On a fundamental level, MSPAF is an incredibly polite, friendly young man who just wants everyone around him to get along. The fact that the fanbase is so split up and antagonistic is incredibly distressing to him. To this end, he thinks the best way to keep everyone happy is to move lockstep with the (perceived) wishes of The Storyteller and His Enforcers. He is always sure to read exactly what is written, and never assume anything more. He will only read fanfiction if it is a canon pairing, and is always sure to make note of even the slightest differences between the fanfiction author’s portrayal and the “true” portrayal. He only buys commissions from artists who have officially contacted The Storyteller, and is mortified by the idea of others not doing the same. While he genuinely believes following all the rules is the only way to friendship, he doesn’t enforce them on anyone. He believes that everyone will come round on their own, and everyone will be happy then. However, he isn’t an absolute boyscout. When nobody else is watching, MSPAF loves Kanaya<3Jade, a non-canon ship involving an unconfirmed sexuality. He believes they’re absolutely adorable, and would make each other very happy. However, he feels incredibly guilty about this, like he’s betraying his beloved Storyteller.

MSPAccess, an MSPA Navigation tool for Chrome (AND NOW FIREFOX)

I decided to reread Homestuck in the interim before EoA5 gets released so I made this little google chrome extension for navigating the pages more easily. You can use the left and right arrows go to backwards and forwards and the 0 key on the numpad to open and close pesterlogs. It’s lightweight and makes fullscreen couch reading a lot more fun.

EDIT: Here’s a Greasemonkey script for use in Firefox as well!

So looks like my first attempt at this was a failure. Maybe next time I’ll plan better, either way it was a fun experience. I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it to my satisfaction before the Jam deadline (tonight at 10 eastern) so I’m just going to relax and finish the game at my own pace. I’ll post the final results here.

Ludum Dare 21 - Day 3

Sunday, 11:02 AM:

So I didn’t get to sleep until about 5 AM last night but here I am, rested (ha) and ready to go. I’m almost done my rewrite of the engine so I’m going to finish that first and then post a new update.

Sunday, 12:00 PM:

Yay, I finally got the engine rewritten and this time it works perfectly! (As far as I can tell). I also made the walls a little bit sticky sort of like Super Meat Boy, this makes the wall jumping a lot more satisfying.

Sunday, 3:30 PM:

Okay so not a lot has changed in this version. I went out to brunch after my last update. This one has reintroduced sounds and changed the background to a new image that I made myself. I still have to balance out the jumping though so I’m going to do that now.

Sunday, 9:40 PM:

Well gee, that sure was a long time between updates. Anyways it looks like I won’t be able to finish on time. Woe is me. I’m going to keep trying to finish the project for the jam but even if that falls through (I do have work tomorrow after all) I’ll still finish the game, I just won’t be in such a rush.
